Petrol RC Trucks

By Rob D Stone

Firstly as I explained above, there are two ways people describe these vehicles and that's using Petrol or Nitro but there is a difference between the fuel. Unleaded Petrol is used in the actual Petrol driven Trucks where as Nitro fuel is purchased from Model shops and costs more than its petrol counterpart which also require 2 Stroke oil which is found on the shelves In the Garage shop shelves with other car accessories.

The Petrol variety used to be very costly, with prices way over £700 within the United Kingdom but recently the price has dropped considerably due to several factors. The main reason being that demand has increased greatly over the last couple of years, meaning the manufacturer's have had funds to be able to research technology and parts which has allowed the cost to lower in the same way that computers, especially laptops have dropped in price. An additional reason is the streamlined manufacturing, where parts and assembly are now completed in the same factories but in the past, different companies were outsourced to produce the parts, shipped abroad and then assembled leading to expenses which could otherwise been lowered. Due to the combination of these, the price of a Shengqi RC Truck is £700 so now within the price reach of many more people who previously could not stretch their pocket.

These RC Trucks are actually much larger than your normal remote control car, with a length or around a meter depending on the model so not for entry level hobbyists but for those who have had a series of RC Models and looking for the next level up. Many of these vehicles are more powerful than you may think, with speeds up to 80kph and able to take on pretty much any terrain you throw at it without even pushing it to its limit.

When it comes to Nitro RC Trucks, there are far smaller than their Petrol cousins and run on nitro fuel as we mentioned above, have a much faster acceleration but can be outranked by petrol cars when it comes to long straight stretches if racing. Due to their popularity, there has been a set of different designs come onto to the RC Car market such as Nitrotek's Bug Crusher Truck. This has a in house designed body shell, chassis and similar specs to ACME-TECH Trucks but with their own set of features and spec's. The Bug Crusher for example has been given a powerful engine from Team Infinity which is produced in Taiwan, stick radio controllers whereas other models such as those from ACME come with wheel controllers but is down to personal preference what is favourite. We hope this article on petrol rc cars has been useful and enjoy whichever truck you invest in, in the near future.
